Puerto Montt – Cahuelmó Fjord- Porcelana Bay – Quintupeu Fjord – Puerto Montt
We will begin the first day sailing through the Seno de Reloncaví and the Ancud Gulf to the fjords area in continental Chiloé visiting places where you can only get by sea. We will anchor to rest the first night in the Cahuelmo fjord. In the morning, we will hike along a path that borders the Cahuelmó river to where there are some stones eroded with thermal water in the middle of an exuberant native vegetation, with species such as Alerces (Fitzroya cupressoides), Coigües (Nothofagus dombeyi), Tepas (Laureliopsis philippiana) and Ulmos (Eucryphia cordifolia), a tree whose flower, the bees produce the well-known Ulmo honey.
The next day we will continue our journey south to Porcelain Bay, which owes its name to the presence of Kaolin, pure white clay used in the manufacture of porcelain. We will go ashore to visit the natural spa of thermal water, inserted in a native forest, listening to the song of the Chucao and the current of the frozen Porcelana River.
On day 3 we will sail from south to north through the Comau fjord up to Quintupeu fjord, characteristic for its narrow entrance and plenty waterfalls that fall stealthily down its steep walls up to 600 meters high. In this fjord is where the famous German ship Dresden hid during the First World War.
The last day of this tour begins on the morning of day 4, setting sail to Puerto Montt, navigating again the waters of the Ancud Gulf towards Puluqui Island to head north and disembark in Puerto Montt, taking with us an unforgettable experience aboard the Omega Centauro IV yacht.
